Gastroenterology Physician

Ongoing Gastroenterology need in Southern Ohio.

Job Description

• 2-4 weeks per month
  • Either 1 FTE or 2 physicians rotating 2 weeks per month
• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM
• Weeknight call from 7 PM to 7 AM and 24-hour weekend call with rounding
• Call is low volume; for night call, the physician will only go in for impact or bleeding
• 12-15 procedures per day with 1-2 possible add-ons
• General GI procedures including EGD, EGD with banding, foreign body removals, dilations, and colonoscopies
• Support staff includes:
  • 1 GI physician
  • 2 CNPs
  • 2 LPNs
  • 4 MOAs
  • 2 desk attendants
  • 2 surgery schedulers
• Endoscopy staff includes:
  • 1 full-time staff member
  • Anesthesia team with MAC sedation
  • 4 full-time endoscopy teams
• EMR and equipment include:
  • Meditech
  • Olympus scopes and video systems
  • New Provation Medical Documentation System (electronic medical record that sends orders to the office, post-op notes dictated and printed, consults to other physicians, helps with coding and billing)
  • The Provation system interfaces with the Olympus system
  • Olympus 190 scopes
  • High-resolution esophageal manometry
  • Bravo pH monitoring
  • Rapid Pillcam
  • 5 large endoscopy suites
