Contract Dental Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team in Tallahassee, FL, on a federal contract basis. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited dental assistant school and possess strong skills to assist in dental procedures and patient care. Job Description

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
• Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies)
• Assist in the management of medical and dental emergencies
• Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist
• Maintain a clean and professional environment

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in dental practice management software is a plus
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and patient care
