This Cardiology Locum Tenens position includes Non-Invasive, Invasive, and Interventional Cardiology, located in San Antonio, TX.

Job Description

• Location: San Antonio, Texas
• Duration: July 7, 2025, and ongoing until a permanent hire is made
• Reason for coverage: Added support due to increased volume
• Schedule: 2-4 weeks per month, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM + rotating weekends and night call
• Call: 1:4 rotating weekends and night call
• Scope: 50% outpatient, 50% inpatient, 60% noninvasive, 30% invasive, 10% interventional
• Volume: 20 patients per day in clinic, 40 patients per day in hospital shared with an additional cardiologist
• Per physician per day: About 7 noninvasive procedures, 5 invasive procedures, 4 interventional procedures
• Procedures required: Echocardiography, TEE, Nuclear cardiology, PA Catheter placement, IABP, Cardiac Catheterization, Heart Biopsy, Angioplasty, Intracoronary Stent Placement, Atherectomy
• EMR: EPIC
• Hospital: 268 beds, 40 ICU beds, Cath lab onsite, surgical backup
• Group/support: 4 RNs, 1 LVN, 6 MAs

Requirements

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Cardiology
• Clean background and malpractice for temporary privileges
• EPIC experience required
