Surgery - Neurosurgery Physician Assistant

Join our dynamic team in Portland, OR, where we are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support our growing neurosurgery department. This position offers a collaborative environment with a focus on inpatient medical management of complex patients.

Job Description

• Work Monday to Friday with rotating weekends (Saturday/Sunday).
• APPs will work four 10-hour shifts from approximately 5:45 AM to 3:45 PM.
• No call duties required.
• Manage a patient volume of no more than 9 patients per APP.
• Primarily responsible for inpatient medical management of neurosurgery patients, who are typically complex and sick, with an average CMI of 4.8.
• Utilize Epic as the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Collaborate in a great team environment with 4-5 APP colleagues each day, sharing the workload and working together in one workroom to solve patient care issues.
• Attendings round daily, and residents assist in managing patients.
• Participate in team rounding and utilize electronic communication groups and other tools to streamline communications and provide support.

Requirements

• APP clinical experience with a proven ability to effectively complete complex patient care tasks and prioritize duties while excelling in a team environment.
• Must already be licensed in the state of Oregon and have relevant experience.
