Cardiovascular Surgical Physician Assistant / First Assistant

We are hiring an experienced Cardiovascular Surgical Physician Assistant / First Assistant for our Cardiac Surgery Location in Western Tennessee! Locum, perm, and locum to perm candidates will all be considered!

One of the busiest Cardiac Surgery programs in the area! The Physician Assistant will primarily first assist in the operating room and operative care in heart surgery. Lots of operating room time! Work mostly with patients in bread-and-butter heart surgery procedures, and may do some minimally invasive procedures as well. Candidate must be proficient in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting and must have excellent first assisting skills in heart surgery!

Job Description

• Provides advanced level of direct and indirect care to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

Requirements

• Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• 1-3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery, first assisting in heart surgery cases.
• Certified Physician Assistants (CCPA) National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner of Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nurse Practitioners
