Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant

Palm Health Resources, Premier Match Making Service for Cardiac Surgery Providers, is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant in the thriving and vibrant city of Raleigh, NC!

This is a full-time, permanent position with full benefits! All cardiac cases other than LVADs and transplants. No thoracic cases are involved in this role. There are 4 full-time surgeons, 7 operating APPs, and 3 NPs. NPs handle primary weekend coverage, consults, and clinic duties. The team manages over 600 cases per year, with an average of 2-4 cases per day. PAs first assist all cases and take vein and/or radial artery if the patient is a CABG.

Job Description

• Work 4 ten-hour shifts! Average 2-3 OR shifts per week, and one floor shift per week.
• One week for ICU Monday to Thursday with Friday off every 7 weeks.
• Weekend work is estimated at one weekend every 6th or 7th week when fully staffed, with variability based on the vacations of other APPs.
• Weekday call involves one night of call per week. When night staff is hired (currently in process), call will only be for the OR. Currently, call is from home, with calls coming from in-patient telemetry, ER, outpatient (via answering service), as well as OR callback.
• Join an experienced APP team of high performers that works well together to get the work done. No in-house call. No thoracic/LVADs/transplants. Surgeons take calls on their ICU patients and are very involved in the care of their patients.
