Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

Immediate locum Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner candidates are needed for a 6-month assignment in Pennsylvania. This full continuum of care Cardiothoracic PA role primarily involves the operating room, but some ICU floor time will be required. We average 600 heart cases per year. A PA coming to this practice should expect to fulfill a full scope role including consults, operating room, ICU and step-down patient management, and clinic duties.

Job Description

• Work 4 10-hour shifts or 3 12-hour shifts at minimum
• On call every 5 weekends, usually from 6 am to 6 pm
• Weekend shifts from 6 am to 6 pm are in-house; weekend call is from Friday 6 pm through Monday 6:30 am, with all calls from home
• Locums are treated like family members
• Premium pay of $120-140 per hour, plus 1.5x overtime over 40 hours

Requirements

• Proficiency in maquet endoscopic vein harvest is required
• Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred
• Candidate must be proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting and surgical first assisting procedures in cardiac surgery
