    Infection Control Specialist

    Performs hospital infection control surveillance to identify actual nosocomial infections, clusters, and outbreaks; develops, reviews, and implements improved patient care practices for all hospital departments as related to infection control practices; conducts in-service education programs to maintain a high level of infection awareness and prevention and acts as liaison between the Infection Control Committee and all other departments of the hospital.

    Job Description

    • Perform hospital infection control surveillance to identify actual nosocomial infections, clusters, and outbreaks.
    • Develop, review, and implement improved patient care practices for all hospital departments related to infection control.
    • Conduct in-service education programs to maintain a high level of infection awareness and prevention.
    • Act as liaison between the Infection Control Committee and all other departments of the hospital.

    Requirements

    • 4-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Allied Health (Required).
    • Master's Degree in Nursing or Allied Health.
    • 5 years demonstrated experience in infection prevention in various clinical specialties (Required).
    • 1 year healthcare leadership role (project, oversight, lead) (Required).
    • Preferred Certifications Licensures: Certified in Infection Control (CIC).
