Respiratory Care Student

Job Description

• Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations to non-critical patients
• Performs Basic Life Support activities
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives
• Cleans, assembles, sets up, and maintains equipment and supplies
• Performs non-invasive respiratory care procedures as ordered under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an AMA approved respiratory care program and completed one semester
• Active student status must be maintained and documented
• Must submit a letter of recommendation from the Program Director for consideration of employment
• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation
• Current certification in BLS required
• Must be actively practicing and maintaining all required respiratory care competencies
• ACLS required post completion of the second semester of the respiratory care program or within 60 days of hire
