Job Description

• Facilitate patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Function as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.
• Assume additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serve as a resource.
• Function on a more global level and be more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Requirements

• Education:

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

• Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience and Surgical Tech Certification Required
  • In lieu of degree, 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience Required

• Licenses and Certifications:

  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
