Job Description
- Provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population.
- Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation.
- Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
- Facilitate the learning of skills essential for adaptation and productivity to diminish or correct pathology.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as necessary.
- Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements.
- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
- Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
- Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
- Adapt programs and/or plans of care according to individual patient needs.
- Promote a safe environment and enforce the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
- Order supplies and equipment as necessary.
- Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment as necessary.
- Ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring atmosphere.
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses and design plans of care.
- Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans and complete all related documentation.
- Provide services including application of therapeutic techniques in various areas such as cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, mobility, activities of daily living, and more.
- Design, fabricate, fit, and apply adaptive devices; train patients in their use.
- Instruct patients in skills required for participation in functional activities and evaluate their progress.
- Perform routine reexaminations as needed to modify or progress treatment plans.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards.
- Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
- Valid driver's license or reliable transportation to and from patients' residences.

Posted Salary Range
USD $47.00 - USD $63.00 /Hr.
