Gastroenterologist

Seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist to provide locums coverage for a practice located in eastern North Carolina. Fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy is required. The locums provider should be proficient in EUS and ERCP.

Job Description

• Coverage needed 1 week per month starting in February, ongoing Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Hospital privileges at a level 1 trauma center
• Established practice with 5 experienced gastroenterologists and 1 Nurse Practitioner
• Anticipated volume: 5-8 procedures per day
• Procedures are typically Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• 4 procedure rooms available
• Hospitalist handles admissions; GI team is a consult service
• GI Fellow takes first call 24 hours per day
• Some advanced GI night and weekend call when needed, can be done from home
• Procedures will include ERCP, EGD, Colonoscopy, and EUS
• State-of-the-art outpatient endoscopy center and newly renovated inpatient GI lab inclusive of 20 bays and 3 procedure rooms
• New high-definition scopes and fluoroscopy equipment
• BLS and ACLS required
• Provider will not respond to codes
• Average inpatient census: 4
• Hospital covers the cost of travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance.
