    Job Description

    • The Inpatient Urologist will act as a consultant. Admission and discharge of most patients will be handled by the Internal Medicine team.
    • Direct care for hospitalized and ER patients.
    • Ability to perform procedures as well as surgeries.
    • M-F Schedule, 7a-5p with no weekends or holidays.
    • Other team members will supplement the call rotation.

    Responsibilities

    • Evaluate and manage urological conditions in hospitalized and ER patients while also taking phone call consultations from outlying facilities.
    • Perform urological procedures and surgeries as needed.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
    • Consult with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive urological care.
    • Participate in rounds and interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients.
    • Educate patients and families about urological conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
    • Stay updated on the latest urological practices, techniques, and technologies.
    • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of urological care.

    Requirements

    • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
    • Board certification or eligibility in Urology.
    • New Mexico medical license.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in urology.
