Primary Care Physician

Join our dynamic team as a Primary Care Physician at the Santa Fe Indian Health Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve a 100% Native American population in a government healthcare setting.

Job Description

• Role: Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine / Internal Medicine / Med Peds)
• Work Schedule: 8 AM - 4:30 PM on most days with 1 in 6 weekdays being a long shift (11:30 hours). Average 1.5 weekend days and 3.5 long shifts per month. Physicians can take more long shifts if they want to.
• Primarily work at 1 clinic (Santa Fe IHC open all days of the week from 8 AM - 7:30 PM) and rotate to 2-3 other clinics (8 AM - 4:30 PM, which are 30 minutes away).
• Walk-in clinic is open daily for 11:30 hours (8 AM - 7:30 PM). Not an urgent care.
• Follow-up visits are 30 minutes, and new visits are 1 hour.
• Average census in an 8-hour shift is 14 patients per day (range of 12-16).
• Average census in an 11:30-hour shift (8 AM - 7:30 PM) is 20 patients per day.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder
• Current CV with all gaps explained
• Board Certification Requirements: BE / BC in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med Peds (must be comfortable seeing kids). No OB.
• License: Any state license works. New grads welcome.
• Certification: BLS is needed (recommended ACLS and PALS - can be obtained after starting the job).
