Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Join our team as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner in a supportive environment. This position offers a full-time schedule with a focus on adult patients, primarily in breast and GU oncology.
Job Description
- Support staff includes RNs, MAs, and attending physicians.
- Coverage needed per month: full time.
- Patients scheduled per day: variable, 6-8 patients.
- Attending providers conduct new patient consults.
- APPs handle follow-ups, symptom management, long-term follow-up care, and any emergent add-on support. The APP is the first line of contact for escalation of follow-up or emergent issues.
- Provider will need to manage the in-basket.
Requirements
- Board certification required.
- License required: California.
- DEA: California DEA with Schedule 2 required.
- Certifications required: BLS.
- Minimum experience required: at least 2-3 years of recent NP oncology experience is required. Ambulatory/outpatient oncology experience preferred, but inpatient oncology experience will also be considered. Radiation oncology experience preferred, but not required. Academic medical center experience strongly preferred.
Practice Setting
- All outpatient.
- Hospital setting.
Skills
- Ideal providers will have strong technical capabilities and strong Epic skills. Organizational skills are essential.
Interview Expectations
- 1-2 interviews are expected.
