Princeton Radiology Associates is a physician group practice providing diagnostic imaging services at 11 imaging centers and two hospitals throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Princeton Radiology Associates is currently seeking a part-time Credentialing & Continuing Education Specialist to work in our business office located in Princeton, New Jersey.
The Credentialing Specialist & Continuing Education Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging processes for all company physicians and mid-level practitioners. Responsible for ensuring physicians are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with contracted insurance carriers, hospitals, and patient facilities. Maintain current data for each physician in the credentialing server and online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications. Tracking and documenting the radiologists' continuing education (CE) and monitoring for requirement changes. Researches courses, conferences/meetings physicians may want to attend.
Job Description
- Process all credentialing and recredentialing for all company radiologists, physician assistants/nurse practitioners, and specific joint venture non-company radiologists; monitor applications and follow up as needed.
- Collect, review, and analyze credentialing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as payer-specific requirements.
- Create urgency with healthcare providers via email and phone to encourage timely and accurate document submission by establishing target dates and monitoring document submission progress in order to deliver comprehensive documentation to facilities for an on-time assignment start date.
- Complete all credentialing and recredentialing for facilities.
- Set up and maintain all physicians' credentialing information on the national online credentialing system (CAQH).
- Track medical licenses, CDS, and DEA certification expirations for all company physicians to ensure timely processing of renewals.
- Facilitate provider onboarding and orientation concerning credentialing requirements and hospital privileging processes.
- Respond timely to inquiries regarding credentialing status and procedures from providers and administrative staff.
- Keep track of CE requirements for ABR MOC, licensing, ACR modality accreditation, breast centers, etc., and maintain updated CE tracking spreadsheets.
- Issue a quarterly CE credit summary to each radiologist informing them of credits needed.
- Monitor society websites for completed CE activities and print certificates.
- Distribute a quarterly list of potentially appealing conferences/meetings and courses radiologists might want to attend.
- Search the internet for courses in specific locations, modalities, or content on an individual basis as requested.
- Monitor BLS and ACLS certifications; enroll physicians in courses to recertify if needed.
- Ensure radiologists are up to date with required immunizations (i.e., PPD, Influenza, Covid-19, etc.).
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience in credentialing and/or contracting required.
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, 25-28 hours weekly.
- Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, accreditation standards (e.g., ACR, ABR), and regulations relating to job duties, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Proven knowledge of Medicare and commercial carrier regulations & credentialing requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal staff, management, insurance carriers, and other institutions in order to achieve the necessary results required in the credentialing process.
- Ability to multitask, work equally well as part of a team or independently.
- Must have exceptional organizational skills.
- Adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Acute attention to details and deadlines is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and present a pleasant, professional demeanor/image during telephone conversations or in person.
