Lifecare Family Medical, located in the heart of Powhatan, VA, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join our team. You'll be stepping into a busy practice with strong community roots and a leadership team dedicated to mentoring, collaboration, and long-term success.

Led by Dr. Jeffrey Dodd, Lifecare Family Medical is a thriving, independently owned clinic that blends personalized, compassionate care with evidence-based medicine. Job Description

• Immediate need: Currently not accepting new patients due to volume; your panel will fill quickly.
• Supportive team: Work alongside Dr. Dodd and a loyal, experienced support staff with a family-like culture.
• Growth-minded: Opportunity to participate in practice management and help shape the clinic's future.
• Teaching environment: Involvement with medical students and residents through VCU (optional).

Practice Details

• Patient volume: Average 35 patients/day
• Schedule:
  • Mon-Thurs: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Fri: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Call: Shared light call, very infrequent (2-3 calls per week max)
• Support staff:
  • 2 Medical Assistants, 1 LPN (inbox management)
  • 2-3 front office staff
  • Long-tenured Office Manager and in-house Biller

Scope of Practice

• Mostly adult patients, some teens (minimal pediatrics)
• Full-spectrum primary care: chronic disease management, preventative, acute visits
• In-office procedures: biopsies, cryotherapy, toenail removal, I&D, women's health

Ideal Candidate

• MD or DO in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• New graduates welcome; mentorship and training provided
• Long-term interest in leadership, community medicine, and continuity of care
