PICU Nurse Practitioner

Job Title

Start Date: ASAP. Duration: Ongoing need.

Schedule Requirements

• Preferred availability: At least 4-6 shifts per 4-week block

• Shift types:

  • 10-hour evenings: 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 12-hour days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

• Coverage model: 24/7/365

  • Includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Weekend, night, and holiday work is shared equally among all team members

Clinical Expectations

• Specialty procedures required:

  • Arterial line placement
  • Central venous line placement
  • Chest tube placement
  • Endotracheal intubation
  • Lumbar puncture
  • PICC placement

• In-house night call:

  • Shared among team members who have completed orientation

• Patient volume:

  • PICU: 4-6 patients per day
  • Night call covers all assigned patients and any new admissions

Additional Information

• EMR: Epic

• Certifications Required: BLS, PALS, NPR

• Licensure: Open to reviewing all licensure candidates

• Interview Process:

  • Name clear Candidate submittal, 30-minute virtual Teams interview
  • Offer decision made post-interview

• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days

• Contract Length:

  • Preferred: 13-week contract
  • Will consider 26-week assignments on a case-by-case basis
