Locum Tenens Physician

This is a six-month locum tenens position with the option to extend the assignment or roll over to permanent after the initial term.

Job Description

• Not a heavy workload; the provider would see anywhere from five to seven patients daily.
• Responsible for histories and physicals, medication management, discharges, and admissions of patients in this inpatient hospital.
• Provide general medical ambulatory care to all patients through the medical clinic.
• Round units to see patients who are unable to be brought to the medical clinic due to mental illness or physical limitations that make transportation difficult.
• Provide interpretations of audiograms, EKGs, lab, and other studies.
• Provide telephone consultation in the area of general medicine to other staff physicians.
• Work collaboratively with unit psychiatrists on prevention of metabolic syndrome caused by antipsychotic medications and treating metabolic complications.
