Job Description
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation, including embedding, cutting, and staining.
- Follow established quality control, safety, and infection prevention protocols.
- Operate and maintain histology lab equipment; troubleshoot minor technical issues as needed.
- Ensure timely documentation and proper labeling of samples.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory and supply levels.
- Collaborate with internal lab staff, clinical teams, and external partners to support smooth operations.
- Participate in lab-based training, process improvement efforts, and educational activities.
- Demonstrate histology techniques and best practices to students or new team members as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Less than one year of experience in histotechnology (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards, specimen handling, and laboratory protocols.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with peers.
- Familiarity with laboratory software and digital documentation tools.
