    Job Description

    • Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation, including embedding, cutting, and staining.
    • Follow established quality control, safety, and infection prevention protocols.
    • Operate and maintain histology lab equipment; troubleshoot minor technical issues as needed.
    • Ensure timely documentation and proper labeling of samples.
    • Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory and supply levels.
    • Collaborate with internal lab staff, clinical teams, and external partners to support smooth operations.
    • Participate in lab-based training, process improvement efforts, and educational activities.
    • Demonstrate histology techniques and best practices to students or new team members as needed.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Less than one year of experience in histotechnology (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
    • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of safety standards, specimen handling, and laboratory protocols.
    • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with peers.
    • Familiarity with laboratory software and digital documentation tools.
