Job Description

• The Unit Manager, in accordance with the goals, policies, procedures and standards of his/her respective area(s) and the Hospital, is responsible for supervising staff, managing daily operations of assigned Unit(s) 24/7.
• This includes overseeing and facilitating performance improvement, risk management, quality of care, customer satisfaction and cost-effective service delivery.
• Responsibilities also include planning, communicating, coordinating, collaborating, directing, assessing, and educating staff and others as needed to achieve high performance standards for the assigned Unit(s).
• As a professional nurse, assists with overall organization-wide or nursing department-wide initiatives to further improve the organization at large.
• Functions as charge nurse while on duty on Unit.
• Provides direct patient care when Unit's patient needs exceed staff ability.
• Follows Hospital, Departmental and Unit policies and the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
• Registered Nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Basic and Advanced IV Certification required
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Specialty Certification preferred
• Must be able to work alternating shifts and be flexible
• Operating Room Nursing experience required
• At least 3 years of staff nurse experience required
• At least 1 year of health care supervisory experience required
• Demonstrates exemplary performance standards
