Orthopedic Hand Surgeon
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician-led 650+ provider multispecialty group that has an excellent opportunity for an Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our fast-paced clinic in a growing community.
Job Description
- Responsibilities include management of the orthopedic hand patient. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, the following: exams, in-office procedures, multiple joint injections, casting/bracing, pre-operative history and physicals, surgical intervention, post-operative follow-up, and management of both acute conditions as well as chronic non-surgical conditions.
- The orthopedic surgeon would be responsible for ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data, prescribing medications, and developing a treatment plan.
- Call responsibilities will require regular involvement with the leading level 2 trauma facility in Idaho for general orthopedic and hand trauma.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an ACGME accredited orthopedic residency program.
- Board certification through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS) or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.
- Completion of a Hand Fellowship with keen ability to treat and manage complex hand trauma.
- Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed; valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
