    Neurosurgeon

    This north Florida health system is seeking an experienced, board-certified neurosurgeon to join their well-respected and busy American College of Surgeons verified Level I Trauma Center. The neurosurgeon will work in the Department of Trauma to provide trauma neurosurgical care. There is APP support as well as a full-service line dedicated to trauma patients in the ICU and the floor. Clinical research is optional, but available. Opportunity to participate as affiliate faculty with the University of Central Florida to teach residents and medical students is also optional, but available.

    Job Description

    • Board certified / board eligible in neurosurgery
    • Spine fellowship trained and experience in trauma neurosurgery required and must be able to perform complex spine surgery
    • The incoming provider will focus mainly on trauma neurosurgery
      • Hospital-based
      • Under the trauma department
      • Managing neuro trauma alerts
      • Trauma consults
      • Manage follow-up clinic
      • Participate in peer review, program improvement, trauma center survey verification/designation, and quality rounds
    • Share the month with another dedicated trauma neurosurgeon with APP support.
    • The hospital's trauma program is the area’s only ACS verified Level 1 trauma center servicing 5 counties and over 1M residents. It is also a teaching hospital for the University of Central Florida and hosts the UCF residency consortium.
