    Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician

    The Columbia VA Health Care System (WJB Dorn VA Medical Center) is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care Physicians to provide onsite services to our nation's Veterans.     Job Description

    • Specialty: Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
    • Location: Columbia VA Health Care System, 6439 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209
    • Schedule:
      • Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (minimum two physicians onsite daily)
      • Operating days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
      • Physicians must arrive at least 20 minutes before scheduled shifts
      • On-call coverage may be required evenings, weekends, and holidays (physicians must remain within 30 minutes of facility when on-call)
      • On-call physicians must be available within 15 minutes by phone and onsite within 30 minutes if needed

    Scope of Practice

    • Full spectrum of Pulmonary and Critical Care services, consistent with national standards set by the American College of Chest Physicians
    • Direct patient care for eligible Veterans
    • Timely consults, evaluations, and documentation per VA requirements
    • Collaboration with VA staff, residents, and fellows
    • On-call responsibilities for urgent/critical cases outside regular hours

    Requirements

    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine (ABIM)
    • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (or equivalent)
    • Active, unrestricted medical license (any U.S. state acceptable)
    • Strong commitment to Veteran care and adherence to VA clinical standards
