    Echo Sonographer

    The Echo Sonographer performs a variety of routine echocardiograms including, but not limited to, Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE) with Color, Spectral Doppler, and 2-D imaging, Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Stress Echocardiogram or Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram, TTE with bubbles, TTE with contrast, and advanced TTE such as TTE with 3D imaging, for both inpatient and outpatient studies. The sonographer locates, evaluates, and records pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data while using different systems of ultrasound equipment. They transmit exams, process preliminary technical data in the designated interpreting system, and communicate any significant findings to the attending reading physician.

    The Vascular Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. They record and maintain test data and prepare preliminary interpretations of test results.

    Job Description

    • Perform routine echocardiograms including TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiograms.
    • Evaluate and record anatomical, pathological, and functional data using ultrasound equipment.
    • Transmit exams and process preliminary technical data.
    • Communicate significant findings to the attending reading physician.
    • Conduct ultrasound examinations of cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma (Required)
    • Accredited Program in Echo or Vascular (Preferred for Echo Vascular Tech I; Required for Echo Vascular Tech II)
    • 1 year of experience in Echo or Vascular (Required for Echo Vascular Tech I)
    • 1 year of experience in Echo and Vascular (Required for Echo Vascular Tech II)

    Certification & Licensures

    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) Certification (Preferred for Echo Vascular Tech I; Required for Echo Vascular Tech II)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required for both positions; must obtain within ninety (90) days of hire)
