    Ophthalmologist

    Join our team in Southeast Alaska as an Ophthalmologist, where you will provide comprehensive ophthalmology services in an outpatient clinic and surgical setting.

    Job Description

    • Provide comprehensive ophthalmology services, including evaluations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
    • Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, and healthcare professionals to ensure multidisciplinary care
    • Participate in quality assessment, improvement initiatives, and medical staff functions
    • Guide policy development and advise on equipment acquisition for program needs
    • Primary focus on comprehensive ophthalmology, including glaucoma, retinal and corneal conditions, macular degeneration, oculoplastics, and autoimmune pathologies
    • Perform cataract and retinal surgeries within facility capabilities
    • Provide ophthalmology consults to our providers and optometrists
    • Provide annual educational programs to medical staff

    Requirements

    • Completion of medical school and accredited ophthalmology residency
    • Active Alaska medical license
    • Board Certified or Eligible
    • Minimum of 2 years in clinical and surgical ophthalmology settings
    • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
    • Effective communication and collaboration with medical professionals and support staff
    • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and standards for medical and surgical ophthalmology
