    Medical Director for Psychiatry

    Join our team as a Medical Director for Psychiatry in Juneau, Alaska, where you will lead psychiatric care delivery across the organization with a focus on evidence-based practices.

    Job Description

    • Supervise and mentor psychiatric medical staff, including residents
    • Champion quality improvement and clinical process consistency
    • Drive access to behavioral health care in remote communities
    • Collaborate on strategic initiatives to optimize clinical services and fiscal responsibility
    • Provide high-quality psychiatric evaluations, therapy, and psychopharmacological treatments
    • Offer consultation and guidance to psychiatric providers and medical staff
    • Maintain clinical compliance with Joint Commission (TJC) and HRSA standards
    • Foster teamwork and collaboration within and across clinical teams
    • Lead efforts to implement new psychiatric treatments and strategies
    • Build relationships with external agencies, clinics, and hospitals to enhance care
    • Serve as medical director for youth residential services
    • Participate in medical staff functions, including annual reviews and clinical standards

    Requirements

    • Education: MD or DO with an active U.S. medical license (Alaska license preferred)
    • Experience:
      • 5+ years of clinical experience in psychiatry
      • 2+ years in a medical leadership role
    • Certifications:
      • Board-certified in psychiatry
      • DEA Registration
      • BLS, ACLS, PALS (as required by practice location)
    • Skills & Abilities:
      • Knowledge of best practices in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
      • Expertise in psychopharmacology and mental health treatments
      • Ability to lead change and improve care delivery
      • Strong communication and leadership skills
      • Ability to handle complex situations with a collaborative approach
