It is the principal city of the Brownsville Harlingen metropolitan area with a population around 500K. Home of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine, Texas Tech Campus also features semi-pro baseball and an international airport. The area offers affordable housing, plentiful schools, and a subtropical climate with warm winter days and cool nights.
