    Cardiac Anesthesiologist

    Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System located in Spartanburg, SC is seeking to hire a full-time BC/BE fellowship-trained Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our team. The Anesthesiologists provide care at 4 facilities, primarily at Spartanburg Medical Center - Church Street (SMC). From Level 1 trauma centers to community hospitals, we treat a variety of complex cases.

    Job Description

    • SMC - Church Street campus - Level 1 Trauma Center, 540 Beds

      • 17,500 cases annually, 3,000+ deliveries annually
      • 20 state-of-the-art ORs, 3 newly renovated Cardiac ORs, 3 EP labs equipped for anesthesia (undergoing current renovation with all new equipment and new GE TEE machines), 3 OB ORs, 6 Endo suites (run a max of 4 rooms at a time)
      • Cardiac volume: 500+ cardiopulmonary bypass cases requiring advanced TEE
        • Mixture of complex and basic hearts
        • Excellent, collaborative surgeons
        • Dedicated CRNAs performing cardiac cases
        • Growing structural heart program that includes TAVR, MitraClip, ECMO, Impella, and Watchman
        • Busy EP Lab
    • General case mix includes: General, Plastics, OB, Gyn, Urology, Ortho, Vascular, ENT, Trauma, GI, Neuro, Thoracic, Regional Anesthesia and Peds (primarily healthy peds dental, ENT, ophtho and Ortho, with occasional NICU cases). Off-sites include MRI and IR.

    • Cardiac Anesthesiologists only take home Cardiac Call

      • Shared equally between members of the cardiac team
      • Fully staffed call 1:7
    • Primarily Medical Direction with goal of 1:2 while performing cardiac anesthesia.

    • Will rotate and do cases at SMC - Mary Black Campus, Cherokee Medical Center, and Pelham Medical Center (all general cases; regional heavy).
