Job Description

• Location: Arcadia Clinic (Atlanta VA)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Type of Role: On-site care for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) beneficiaries
• Outpatient setting on-site direct patient care
• Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to veterans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient mental health needs
• Outpatient setting
• 6 to 6.5 direct patient care hours per day or 12 patients for one half-hour each; or any combination of one-hour and one-half hour appointment per day
• Responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric services for Veterans enrolled for care in the Atlanta VA Healthcare System Outpatient Clinics
• Provide general psychiatric care to male and female adult Veterans, which includes conducting diagnostic evaluations, psychiatric consultation, medication management, and individual psychotherapy
• Assess serious and complicated cases involving psychiatric illness, catastrophic medical conditions, dementia, and other high-risk diagnoses

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist: Active certification or eligibility required
• Unrestricted State Medical License: Valid and in good standing in any U.S. state
• DEA Certification: Current and unrestricted DEA license
• BLS through the AHA or American Red Cross
