Infectious Disease Physician
The School of Medicine of Stony Brook University is seeking an Infectious Disease physician to join our faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases. This is a full-time academic position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.
We are seeking individuals to become involved with our expanding program of patient care, teaching, and academic scholarship. Opportunities for developing clinical or basic research projects exist, potentially with support of targeted research awards. Stony Brook is located in suburban Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, offering excellent schools and wonderful recreational activities, including access to beaches, boating, and the cultural wealth of New York City. The level of appointment will be dependent on credentials and experience.
Job Description
- Join the faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Stony Brook University.
- Engage in patient care, teaching, and academic scholarship.
- Develop clinical or basic research projects with potential support from targeted research awards.
Requirements
- MD (or foreign equivalent).
- Must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified/Eligible in Infectious Diseases.
- Strong clinical background to assume patient care and teach fellows and medical students with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical experience in the treatment of Infectious Diseases in the immunocompromised host.
- Interest in antibiotic stewardship and/or infection control.
- Commitment to establishing a track record as a clinical educator and/or clinical researcher.
