Pathology Assistant

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Pathology Assistant for locum tenens coverage in Tacoma, Washington (WA). Starting as soon as possible, this role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

Job Description

• Perform gross description, preparation, and dissection of surgical specimens
• Assist with preparations for postmortem examinations
• Provide instruction in anatomy, physiology, and gross pathology
• Conduct anatomical photography
• Apply standard autopsy techniques
• Participate in ongoing research and biobanking activities
• May include administrative, supervisory, and teaching duties

Requirements

• ASCP certification required
• Knowledge of specimen requirements, medical terminology (Histology and Cytology), and safety precautions for biohazards
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems and computer systems
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Two start times: 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM
