Neurologist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Neurologist nurse practitioner or physician assistant to work locum shifts in Providence, Rhode Island (RI). Starting in October 2025, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

Job Description

• Reason for Coverage: Extra Volume
• EMR: Epic
• Coverage Dates: October 2025 - February 2026
• Shift Schedule Details: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (36 hours per week), must work every other weekend
• Type of Patients/Cases: Neuro Critical Care, Stroke
• Patients per Day/Volume: 4-9
• Practice Setting: Hospital
• Number of Beds: 18
• Trauma Level: I
• Miscellaneous Information: Would consider a candidate with mixed ICU experience as long as they have competence and confidence managing neuro conditions like stroke
• Procedures/Cases Required: Neuro Critical Care
• Education Requirements: Must have Neuro or Critical Care experience

Requirements

• RI state license; active, unrestricted
• Board certified
• Certifications: BLS or ACLS
• 1-2 years of NP/PA experience
• Active or transferable DEA
