Anesthesiologist

We have an immediate need for anesthesiologists to provide comprehensive on-site services for our nation's veterans at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. This contract position offers the chance to support meaningful impact while serving our country's veterans.

Job Description

• Provide clinical anesthesiology services, ensuring timely presence for scheduled clinics and surgeries.
• Deliver comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement, and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic, and ophthalmologic operations.
• Provide clinical care for patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in various medical suites.
• Offer primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care unit, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, and emergency airway management.
• Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory, and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
• Follow all established medication policies and procedures.
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.
• Ensure mechanisms are in place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care.

Requirements

• Current CV without any gaps over 30 days since completion of medical school; written explanations are accepted.
• One active, unrestricted Medical License in any state.
• Current DEA.
• BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Three current references.
