    Oncology Physician

    We have an immediate need for two Oncology physicians for our veteran population at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI. These roles offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans' lives while experiencing the beauty of the Northeast.

    Job Description

    • Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting.
    • Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consults from primary care and other services for outpatient oncology consultations.
    • Obtain medical history, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients.
    • Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system.
    • Perform administrative tasks as assigned such as peer review and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations.
    • Provide oncology on-call services as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Must have completed a residency and be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board.
    • One active, unrestricted Medical License in any state.
    • Current DEA.
    • BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) required and ACLS.
    • Current CV without any gaps over 30 days since completion of medical school - written explanations are accepted.
    • Three current references.

    Hours & Schedule

    Standard Administrative Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (excluding federal holidays). Specific clinic times to be identified upon start of assignment. On-call hours required.
