Job Description
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patients' strengths, limitations, and goals
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's needs and goals
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and strategies for independent living
- Document patients' progress and update treatment plans as needed
- Stay current with advances in occupational therapy by attending professional development opportunities
Requirements
- New graduates are welcome
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is a plus
- Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT) is a plus
- A California license to practice Occupational Therapy is required
- BLS certification is required
- Must be in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
- Interest in working with the geriatric population
- Graduate of a program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
- Knowledge of the nursing process and standards of care for skilled nursing facilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health records
