Transplant Surgeon

TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a board-certified Transplant Surgeon to provide locum call coverage at a large academic medical center in eastern North Carolina. This opportunity offers predictable monthly weekend coverage, strong resident support, and a well-established transplant program.

Job Description

• Job Type: Locums

• Coverage: Approximately one weekend per month

Weekend Coverage Block

• Friday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM
• Orientation required the day before the first scheduled shift.

Clinical Environment

• Large academic Level I Trauma Center
• Established transplant program performing transplants annually
• Resident coverage available
• Full transplant support services in place
• Provider not required to remain on-site while on call
• Average Census: 8 to 12 patients
• Average Admissions/Day: 0 to 3
• Average Admissions/Night: 0 to 1
• Transplant Cases: per month
• ICU Responsibilities: None
• Code Response: No
• ER Backup: No

Required Procedures

• Deceased donor renal transplant
• Deceased donor simultaneous kidney/pancreas transplant
• Review and acceptance of organ offers

Requirements

• Fellowship training in Transplant Surgery
• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Minimum 5 years of transplant surgery experience
• Active medical license (or ability to obtain)
• BLS and ACLS (AHA required)
