Job Description

• Clinic/hospital hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
• Call night/weekend: Yes, for assigned caseload; call times start at 5:00 PM and end at 8:00 AM
• Schedule rounding is required
• Patient encounters per shift: 24-27
• Average number of admissions per shift: 2

Patient Information

• Age: 18 and up
• Inpatient/outpatient: Inpatient
• Number of patients seen per day: 12-15 inpatients
• Phone consults: 1-2 calls per day in off hours

Support Staff Available

• Full hospital support team including in-house Internal Medicine provider coverage

Requirements

• Board certification required
• Fellowship not required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30 days
• Temporary privileges granted

• ABLS
• ACLS
• ATLS
• BLS
• PALS

Charting/EMR System

• Pinpoint

Specialty Questions and Skills

• This position is not focused on interventional pain
• Preferred skills include:
  • Traction/immobilization devices
  • Diagnostic/therapeutic taps
  • Arthrocentesis
  • Intra-discal electrothermal annuloplasty (IDET)
  • Pain management (acute and chronic)
  • Injections (joint, trigger point, blocks, epidural, facet, fluoroscopy-guided)
  • Electrical stimulation
  • Wound debridement
  • EMG and nerve conduction studies
  • Stress reduction/relaxation training
  • Medical management

• Reason for need: Physician transition
• Multiple providers will be accepted if necessary, with a preference for one provider
