As a Laboratory Technician, Per Diem at the BURL Clinical Laboratory, your duties include:
Job Description
- Performs phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
- Prepares specimens for analysis, performs laboratory functions, and assists in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays.
- Provides coverage at multiple sites within Southern California (e.g. Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Calabasas, Burbank, Century City, Encino, Panorama City, and Torrance).
Requirements
- A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).
- Must be able to work at various locations within Southern California (e.g. West Lake Village, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Calabasas, Burbank, Century City, Encino, Panorama City, Torrance and Redondo Beach).
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
- Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS).
- Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred.
