Critical Care APP (NP/PA) ICU & Step-Down Unit Night Shift
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a Step-Down Unit at a premier healthcare facility in Bradenton, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing procedures, managing complex cases, and using Cerner EMR for patient documentation.
Job Description
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management.
- Perform a variety of medical procedures as required, including but not limited to central line placement, intubation, and arterial line insertion.
- Collaborate with intensive care specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, lab results, and evolving conditions.
- Provide patient education and support for patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes using Cerner EMR.
- Respond to acute and emergency situations in the ICU, including rapid assessments and interventions.
- Participate in team rounds, contributing to the development and implementation of patient care strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date protocols, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Florida.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR or similar electronic medical records systems.
- Experience in performing invasive procedures required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Schedule
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Rotating shifts with some weekend and holiday availability required.
