Clinical Educator
The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an exceptional board certified or board eligible gastroenterologist at the Assistant Professor rank to join the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
The faculty will be responsible for the growth of a General Gastroenterology practice either at a site of our hospital partner, Ascension Seton, or at the future site of The University of Texas Medical Center.
Ascension Seton is the leading provider of healthcare services in Central Texas, serving an 11-county population of 2 million. The organization operates 5 major medical centers, 2 community hospitals, 3 rural hospitals, a mental health hospital, several rehab/medical centers for well patients, and 3 primary care clinics for the uninsured.
The position will comprise of inpatient gastroenterology consult service, outpatient clinics, and endoscopy. There are no scheduled outpatient clinics during inpatient weeks. The position includes protected time for academic activities and may include teaching residents. The hospital and clinics are located in Central Austin.

Requirements
- MD degree with Board Certification (or Board Eligibility if within 2 years of residency) in Internal Medicine
- Candidates with training in advanced endoscopy are encouraged to apply
- Training and experience in quality improvement initiatives
- Eligibility for appointment at the (Clinical) Assistant Professor level
