Job Description
- Perform general surgical procedures and operations.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
- Manage and lead surgical teams during procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain records and report on the medical care of patients.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant medical and safety guidelines and regulations.
- Participate in or lead medical training and professional development of other medical personnel.
- Be prepared to deploy and provide surgical services in varied and austere environments.
- Engage in research to optimize patient outcomes and advance the field of military medicine.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a residency program in General Surgery.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine.
- Must meet the physical and medical requirements for active duty service in the United States Air Force.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
