The University of Virginia (UVA) Community Health Anesthesiology Department is seeking an American Board of Anesthesiology certified or certification-eligible candidate to join our dynamic Anesthesiology team in the growing Northern Virginia area. The successful candidate will make a significant impact on our expanding program.

Job Description

• Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care
• Participate in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation
• Provide medical supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
• Formulate a patient-specific plan for anesthesia care
• Implement, monitor, and adjust the patient's physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patient's needs
• Transfer the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety
• Support operating room procedures
• Participate in additional areas of responsibility
• Assume responsibility for professional development of self and contribute to and assist with the professional development of others
• Call not to exceed 1 in 4
