    Registered Nurse (RN)

    The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing competent nursing care. Responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

    Valley Children’s NICU offers the most comprehensive array of services for critically ill newborns to ensure the best possible quality of life. Valley Children’s main Hospital campus in Madera provides Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) support - the highest level of care available for neonates and infants. Valley Children’s supports a network of NICUs throughout Central California, providing the opportunity for families with critically ill babies to receive treatment closer to home throughout his or her entire stay.

    Job Description

    • Provide competent nursing care and coordinate the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
    • Work under the direction of the designated nurse executive and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

    Requirements

    • A graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN strongly preferred.
    • An active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN).
    • Life Support Certifications:
      • Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
      • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within six months of hire or transfer into the position.
    • Experience to correlate with Clinical Ladder level.
    • Bilingual skills desirable.

    Position Details

    Full Time, 69 hours per pay period, various shifts available.
