    Registered Nurse (RN)

    The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing competent nursing care. Responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

    Valley Children's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is comprised of a team of compassionate and highly skilled professionals, who provide excellent family-centered and evidence-based care, promoting the well-being of its critically ill pediatric patients. PICU is a 42-bed Critical Care unit consisting of approximately 140 staff members and 13 intensivist physicians.

    Job Description

    • Provide competent nursing care and coordinate the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
    • Work under the direction of the designated nurse executive and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.
    • Deliver family-centered and evidence-based care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

    Requirements

    • A graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN strongly preferred.
    • An active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN).
    • Life Support Certifications:
      • Heart Code Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
      • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months of hire or transfer into the position.
    • Experience to correlate with Clinical Ladder level.
    • Bilingual skills desirable.

    Position Details

    Full Time, 69 hours per pay period, various shifts may be available.
