Vitruvian Health and Hamilton Physician Group (HPG) are recruiting a Geriatrician for Hamilton Medical Center. The physician will play an integral role as core faculty within the Family Medicine Residency Program. The physician will take a proactive approach to designing Geriatric rotations for residents, ensuring that they have a comprehensive and immersive experience with the Long-Term Care facilities. Further, the physician will serve as a core component of the Family Medicine Residency Program and will actively work with the Program Director on scheduling rotations and programmatic needs.
Job Description
- Provide direct clinical supervision of residents in outpatient and Skilled Nursing Facility settings
- Deliver bedside teaching focused on geriatric syndromes, polypharmacy, functional assessment, and goals-of-care discussions
- Offer real-time feedback and formal evaluations to support resident competency development
- Mentor residents in clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary communication, and longitudinal patient management
- Participate in rotation planning, didactics, and continuous curriculum improvement
Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible in Geriatrics, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Ideal candidate will have an interest in teaching and mentoring
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Commitment to quality, patient safety, and overall excellence in compassionate evidence-based clinical care

Practice Overview
- Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Procedures include skin biopsies, joint injections, wound care/debridement, ear irrigations, and pelvic exams (high risk for cancer or assault)

Located on the campus of Vitruvian Health Care System in Dalton, GA, Hamilton Long Term Care (HLTC) is comprised of 3 LTC centers with 322 beds. All three facilities provide both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. HLTC provides 24/7 skilled nursing care; assistance with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and eating, along with three meals a day and social/recreational activities. Each facility offers wound care, physical, occupational, and speech therapies individualized for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
