    General Medicine Provider

    VES is seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across the country.

    Job Description

    • Perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a PRN basis, ongoing.
    • Options for coverage include traveling to perform exams at VES leased facilities or scheduling Veterans within your own practice.
    • Work options include half days (4 hours) and full days (8 hours).
    • Conduct one-time non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
    • No prescribing or treatment involved.
    • Quick credentialing and onboarding process.

    Requirements

    • Must have your own office location.
    • Willing to accept specialties in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine with experience in compensation and pension.
    • DMA certification available (can earn CME credits) must be obtained once privileged if not already certified; client does not reimburse for DMA certifications or portal training before starting.
    • Use of a Goniometer is required.
    • Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions is required.
    • Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
    • Own a personal laptop (no Macs).
    • Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion; no narrative report is required. The end product is the completion of standardized forms.
    • Evaluations to be completed in VES's provider portal.
    • Record review is required in most cases.
    • Follow-up administrative work will be required regularly (addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics).

    Submission Requirements

    • Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
    • Own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
    • AANP certification.
    • Active and unrestricted full license.
    • Must be willing to complete DMA training to become DMA certified.
    • CV needs to have the current home address listed for presentation.
    • A copy of the ECFMG certificate is required if attended school in a different country.

    Certification Requirements

    • Board Certified.
