    Interventional Radiology Physician (Locum)

    OU Health in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an Interventional Radiology Physician.

    Job Description

    • Schedule will consist of a set of procedures along with ER pop-ins and trauma.
    • Performing image-guided procedures to diagnose conditions, such as blockages in blood vessels, tumors, and infections.
    • Treating medical conditions, such as:
      • Placing stents to open up narrowed blood vessels
      • Embolizing tumors to stop blood flow to them
      • Inserting catheters to remove blood clots or drain fluid
      • Performing biopsies to obtain tissue samples for diagnosis
    • Providing pain relief by injecting medications or nerve blocks.
    • Guiding other medical professionals, such as surgeons, during procedures.
    • Conditions treated include aortic aneurysms, arterial blockages, cancer, deep vein thrombosis, kidney stones, pulmonary emboli, and varicose veins.
    • 100% Interventional Radiology.

    Hospital Details

    • Hospital Bed Size: 500 adult beds, 126 ICU beds.
    • Trauma Level: Level 1, Level IV NICU.
    • Patient Volume for Specified Department: Typical case load is 10 cases per day but can go to a maximum of 20 occasionally.
    • Average Patient Age: 70.
    • EMR: Epic.

    Schedule/Availability Requirements

    • Full-time scheduled shift: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
    • Monday - Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
    • Minimum monthly availability required: 2 weeks per month.
    • Call Details: Will be on call 1 in 4 both inpatient and outpatient. 10 cases per day sometimes 20.
    • 24/7 call for 1 week, 7 days straight a month - typically called in twice in call cycle.
    • Assignment: 6 months with possible extension.

    Requirements

    • Oklahoma License or IMLC.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology.
    • MD or DO degree.
    • Completion of Interventional Radiology Fellowship.
    • ACLS certification.
    • BLS certification.
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility.
