    Registered Nurse

    Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse, where you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients. This position operates on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 AM to 8 PM.

    Job Description

    • Assess, interpret, plan, implement, and evaluate patients according to their age, diagnosis, and prognosis.
    • Effectively manage the assessment of new patients and coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team, performing follow-up visits when necessary.
    • Communicate appropriately with physicians regarding patient needs, responses to treatment, and changes in condition; obtain/receive physician orders as required.
    • Work closely with other members of the interdisciplinary group (IDG) and cooperate with family/caregivers to provide holistic physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual services, including bereavement support.
    • Organize and perform work effectively and efficiently.
    • Maintain and adjust schedule to enhance agency performance.
    • Demonstrate a daily commitment to the values of the agency.
    • Maintain positive interpersonal relations with all members of the agency.
    • Promote customer satisfaction.
    • Effectively demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of the agency on a daily basis.

    Quality of Work

    • Utilize all aspects of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to develop the Plan of Care for each patient.
    • Develop nursing interventions based on physiological needs and clinical assessments appropriate for the patient's age and developmental stage.
    • Provide and/or facilitate education according to the Plan of Care within the level of understanding for both the patient and their family.
    • Collaborate with patients/families and physicians to perform thorough initial assessments to determine hospice eligibility and identify needs based on age and prognosis.
    • Implement interventions consistent with agency policy and discipline standards; evaluate patient responses according to agency policy.

    Requirements

    • Education: Graduate of an accredited or approved school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN program).
    • Licensure/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse license in NC, NC driver's license with an insured automobile, and current American Heart Association CPR certification.
    • Experience: Minimum of one year clinical experience required; hospice experience preferred.
    • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Working knowledge of Word, email, typing at 30 wpm, basic technical or medical knowledge of home health billing requirements.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
    • Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to transfer/maneuver objects weighing at least 50 pounds; requires frequent pushing, moving, lifting of patients.
    • Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to assess a patient's condition, formulate a plan of care, select appropriate interventions, evaluate responses to care/treatment, and explain/teach patients about their disease progression and end-of-life care.
    • Essential Sensory Requirements: Ability to visually assess patients and utilize sight and hearing to implement and evaluate plans of care.

    • Noise, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and body fluids, infectious diseases.
