    Community Overview

White Plains is a vibrant and diverse community with a wide variety of services and amenities for residents and visitors of all ages. White Plains provides the ideal combination of urban and suburban flavor.

Located in the heart of Westchester County and just 25 miles north of Manhattan, White Plains is one of the most accessible cities in the region. The city is served by two Metro-North stations (White Plains and North White Plains), a public bus system (Bee-Line), and has easy access to major highways and Westchester County Airport (and less than a one-hour drive from the major metropolitan airports - JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark). In the fall of 2018, the City will start serving as the hub of the Bus Rapid Transit system, which will provide specialized bus service across the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. White Plains seamlessly combines the traditional amenities of suburbia with a vibrant urban core.
